- At ~1:45, I forgot to produce a probe for around 40 seconds. D'oh. Though I did produce well after that until my supply was in the 50s or 60s, I believe.
- I supply blocked myself at 26 (I think that I was under the impression that I had already built that pylon by the rocks)
- Didn't get an Observer (or two) out of the Robo
- Should have pulled my army back to protect against that final push instead of going for a base trade. Especially when I saw the cannons.
- Probably should have tried for a 3rd as the main was getting mined out.
I was low on minerals for a lot of the game. I'm not sure if this is because of my poor probe production, the probes I lost from his drop, or both.

Now the highest priority is obviously fluid macro. A few things to say about your macro is that your money seemed a bit high. on 2 bases later in the game you were on 4 gates and 1 robo. Since generally 1 base can support 3 gate 1 robo, 2 bases can support about 6 gate, 2 robo. Start adding extra production facilities when your expansion is just getting up.
ReplyDeleteLooks like in this game you went for a 3 gate robo build. Since it kind of seemed that you ddin't know the purpose of the build, a 3 gate robo is a rather safe build that allows you to safely expand and/or tech to colossi. ie it can hold of early aggression while developing your economy and preparing you for your mid or late game push.
This is usually done through getting a sentry and FFing your ramp which buys time to gather up your army.
However, a very well done 4gate will be difficult to hold off but at the bronze level I wouldn't worry about it that much.
Moving on to the finer points that I feel are pretty important:
- Your probe production was actually pretty good for a bronzer through out the game. Most people forget to build probes at one point or another but you remembered even until after the 20 minute mark.
- Yes getting an observer out is pretty crucial for scouting. Get 2; 1 at his base and 1 for following his army. All you did for scouting was seeing where his position was. Maybe you were scared of losing your probe so you didn't send him back but just lose that poor probe to make sure he isn't at least cheesing.
- Check your minimap more often. That warp prism was on your minimap for quite some time, plenty of it to move your army back to defend properly. You lose A LOT of probes to that harassment to the verge costing the game. Of course checking the minimap requires practice so try to remember as best as you can.
Next time when your workers are being attacked, don't panic and move your workers to your natural (select them all and right click on a mineral patch) and send half of your army to defend it.
- Generally I like having an expansion up by AT LEAST the 9 minute mark. If you sense early aggression (this is where scouting helps) delay it by 1 minute and ask yourself if it is now safe enough to take an expansion. I find that roughly by the 20 minute mark, the main starts getting mined out so try to have a third up before then.
I didn't really comment on the fights cause I would just want you to concentrate on your macro right now. Doing just this and knowing how to hold off cheese will easily get you into at least high Gold.
And when you've known you lost, just gg and leave. I would HONESTLY say you deserved the offensive gg because there is no way you were coming back from that game by trying to rebuild. Sorry that I had to say that.
